  The sick child has many different colors in it But they're not very bright and I think that the artist was trying to express emotions through the color because this is obviously a very sad painting about the loss of a loved one and that's why the colors were more dark. I also think this painting also shows a lot of emotion and depth in it, it shows two people who care a lot for a child and And they're going through a lot by losing a young child.
